Join us as we follow key rider, Tim Price, and the star of his stable, the eye-catching and talented bay gelding, Wesko (aka Dash), as they prepare for the 2014 Mitsubishi Badminton Horse Trials in May.
Tim found Dash almost by mistake at the end of a long cold day on a showjumping yard. As easy and laid back as his rider, Dash
showed his impressive scope by going from pre novice to CIC*** in 2011, never being out of the top three. Dash confirmed his promise in 2013 with a 2nd at Hartpury CIC*** followed by a great CCI*** win at Blair Castle. He was listed by Team NZ as a squad horse and is now aiming for Badminton. An easy going character, Dash adores everything about eventing from getting his feet wet to pinging round the jumping phases and doing exceptionally smart dressage.
Tim grew up on a farm in North Canterbury, New Zealand. Surrounded by horses from an early age, it seemed natural that they would shape his career. Having showjumped to World Cup level, Tim made the switch in disciplines after deciding that the NZ Thoroughbreds he was competing were more naturally suited to eventing. Vortex was one such horse. Having won the CCI** at the National 3 Day Championships, he was sold “for enough money to put the horses on a plane and head for the UK”. Tim and Vortex were eventually reunited in the UK and competed at Badminton, Burghley and Pau 4*s.
