Michael Whitaker is a household name in British Showjumping and is arguably one of the most respected and recognised showjumpers in the world. He began competing on ponies at the age of 7, and made his international debut at the young age of 16. He became the youngest person to win the Hickstead Derby in 1980, aged 20.

The list of Michaels achievements is about as long as a piece of string.  He has competed at four Olympic Games, four World Championships and thirteen European Championships. He has won both the King George Gold Cup and the Hickstead Derby 4 times each, and has a trophy cabinet full of Golds, Silvers and Bronzes.
